Music Magazine Initial Research; The Industry

The big publishers in the magazine industry include; IPCMedia, Dennis & Bauer.

- IPCMedia publish the music magazines; NME

- Dennis do not publish music magazines but mainly focus on males and technology inlcuding; Bizarre, EVO, Men's Fitness and Viz

- Bauer publish the music magazines; Q, Mojo and Kerrang!

Other music magazines include; Play, Uncut, Clash, FutureMusic, Vibe, Blender, CCM, Independant Music, Classic FM, Wire, Fader, Loops, Classical Music and Music.

There is no accurate answer to how many music magazines there generally are in the UK, although we do know there are quite a few on offer, even if they are not produced in the UK. Some of these titles would include; the ones listed above, along with
Alternative Press
Amazing Sounds
Babble and Beat
Billboard
ChartAttack
Glide
Innerviews
Mojo
Music Box
Music Magazine, The
Music of the Balkans
New Musical Express (NME)
Paste Magazine
Q Magazine
Rock Rap Confidential
Soul Shine
Sounds and Colours
Spin
Uncut
Wire, The

The main audiences which all these music magazines aim for I would say are people betwwen the age of 15-32. I say this because most of the music magazines I have found, such as Q and NME are all teen based magazines. I cannot imagine anyone younger than 14 or any older people reading this type of magazine as it is probably not in their interest.
